Forestdance at the Hostel in the Forest

Forestdance is a profound ceremonial gathering where we dance and experiment with creativity in service, around a sacred fire for three full nights until dawn. It is a rite of passage.

Forestdance returns to its Roots, to our very first location.

After 23 years, to the day, Forestdance will return to the magical lands of the Hostel in the Forest.  

Since this magical gathering’s first night, on 11/11/03, people have gathered for three full nights around the fire until dawn, 42 times in 16 locations across the US and Costa Rica. 

Returning to the place that first called this medicine in, is such a gift and an honor.  

Bring your songs, your drums and rattles, your hand pans, your instruments, your tears, your doubts, your full hearted Yes, your love for connecting to the Land, and your willingness to experience mystery.  It is also a healing ritual.  We may grieve together.  

This is about being in service together with those of us that decide to come.

It is an all night dance where we listen, we share, we sweat, we risk being heard, we expand, and contract, and expand again, and maybe we break open with a renewed faith for life.  

We sleep at dawn, wake for brunch, gather, prepare the space again, have dinner, then sleep again for a couple of hours, and wake and do it again.   3 nights.   It is a closed container, meaning that you can’t show up and jump in once we have begun the process.  This is a magnificent and humble rite of passage, a bit of an ordeal, and the more you give and risk, the more you receive.   

Our facilitators, teachers, and everyone present guide our journey, where we reignite our inspiration, access and reclaim our own core, connect to
nature, and expand our heart awareness.

The music, drumming, rattles, singing and chanting are a large part of what unlocks the beautiful power and the clearing. We experience wild joy and ecstatic states while also holding powerful space for healing, shedding or transmuting trauma, guilt, shame and fear. We reclaim our connections
to the land, we honor our ancestors, and we remember what we are  capable of.

The hostel in the forest is less than an hour drive from Jacksonville airport.

Check the weather the week of the event. While the fire keeps us warm at night, and the temperature is warm enough to swim in, bring layers, and if necessary bring an extra blanket or two, one to share.
