Forever Home: Rescue, Hope and the Case for Change

Forever Home follows Piedmont Refuge, a farmed animal sanctuary in the United States, and the people who keep it running.

When an architect fuses sustainable design with empathy, this North Carolina refuge becomes a haven for compassionate creativity.

Filmmaker Allison Argo has offered the documentary to sanctuaries for community screenings ahead of its broadcast, and we're bringing it to Melbourne.

The panel

After the screening, three people deeply connected to animal welfare will take the stage.

Pam Ahern, founder of Edgar's Mission, who started with one rescued pig and now cares for hundreds of animals across a Lancefield farm sanctuary.

Phillip Wollen, former Citibank vice president turned philanthropist and animal advocate, whose 2012 debate speech has been watched millions of times.

Georgie Purcell MP, Member for Northern Victoria and one of the most visible advocates for animal law reform in the Victorian Parliament.

The conversation moves from the film to here. What a sanctuary can and can't do on its own, where the law is shifting in Victoria, and what actually changes public opinion.
