Description

Join Forge Gymnastics Education for a practical coach education workshop focused on progressing giants from straps to wooden bars, as well as the flyaway dismount.

Presented by Cody Gribble and Alicia Hayes, this workshop will explore the technical foundations, progressions, spotting and coaching considerations involved in developing these high bar elements.

What we'll cover:

  • Technical breakdown of giants and the flyaway dismount

  • Drills and progressions for giants and flyaways

  • Physical preparation for giants and flyaways

  • Common errors and how to address them

  • Spotting techniques and coaching considerations

The workshop will help coaches understand the technical aspects of these skills, how to identify what may be limiting an athlete, and how to select appropriate progressions, drills and coaching strategies to safely develop these skills.

Presented by:

Practical spotting opportunities:

The workshop will include opportunities for coaches to practice spotting techniques. If you would like to participate in the practical spotting component, you will need to bring your own athlete. Athletes will not be provided by Forge. Athletes will not be expected to progress through every drill presented during the workshop.

Please email Cody prior to the workshop to discuss arrangements.
