Formed in Nonviolence: Freedom from Violence of Fist, Tongue, or Heart
Description
Formed in Nonviolence: Freedom from Violence of Fist, Tongue, or Heart
Whether you’ve joined every Vineyard Nonviolence Discipleship Cohort since 2023 or this would be your first foray into this discipleship framework, you are welcome to this monthly space to process how to become a person “free of violence of fist, tongue, or heart.”
As you come to find out while going over Rev. Dr. King’s main method of discipleship, nonviolence is a strategy that can change your city, our nation, and even the world, but it mostly changes you personally and in a deeply profound way. Think about how many times you’re tempted in a week to give in to hate, violence, or have been simply confused by conflict as opposed to joining Jesus to transform conflict with peace. Nonviolence gives simple strategies for how to be a peacemaker in a practical way.
This monthly space will act as a place to grow in these discipleship skills (drawing largely from the steps and commandments of nonviolence) through short teachings, group activities, testimonies from Vineyard voices, and regular space to engage one another as Vineyard pastors and leaders on a journey of becoming peacemakers.
Scripture exhorts us, “peacemakers who grow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”
Join us every third Friday at noon EST as we grow in the way of nonviolence together.
