Event description

Performance Sharing at Loch Garry Wetlands

by Maggie Ellis, Rhae Kendrigan and Kris Tito

Artists Maggie Ellis, Rhae Kendrigan and Kris Tito will present a new performance as part of their creative research of the Loch Garry Wetlands. Join us at Bunbartha Community Centre at 2:30pm, where we will gather together to head down to Loch Garry Wetlands to view the performance sharing.

The artists’ collective embodied processes for researching place bring them here to ask, is there a Rivers edge? How does the River permeate into the surrounding ecologies, and into the identity of the community? Our creative explorations during the week prior, including the open studio and public workshop will culminate in this performance sharing at Loch Garry Wetlands.

This is a gentle offering that proposes new ways in which we can be transformed by, and alongside, the uniqueness of these living wetlands. An opportunity to thoughtfully reconnect with these complex ecologies and our human vulnerabilities!

What to bring to the performance:

  • Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent and or in the event of inclement weather a raincoat and umbrella, as the performance will take place in light rain.
  • Wear sturdy walking shoes and comfortable clothing.
  • A small easy to carry camp chair, if you can’t easily sit on the ground and or a picnic rug.

Other performance considerations:

  • There may be limited phone reception.
  • Toileting facilities are back at Bunbartha Community Centre.
  • You will need to be able to comfortably walk up to 100m on uneven surfaces.

*Please note that this performance may take place directly at the Bunbartha Community Centre, if the wetlands are impacted by any recent flooding and or duck hunting.
