Help Our Forró Community Grow ❤️🎶

Love to Forró Melbourne is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation. We're raising funds to purchase community sound equipment that can be shared across Forró events. Having our own equipment will reduce event costs, simplify logistics, and help our community organise more dances, workshops, and social events throughout Melbourne. Every contribution, big or small, helps keep our community growing.

Our fundraising goal is $8,000 AUD. We'll keep our community updated throughout the campaign, sharing our progress and celebrating each milestone together. Every donation brings us one step closer to owning community sound equipment that will benefit Forró events across Melbourne for years to come.

Since 2022, Love to Forró has been dedicated to growing the Forró community in Melbourne. Everything we do is organised by volunteers who donate their time because they believe in creating opportunities for people to connect through music, dance, and friendship.

Over the years, we've organised weekly classes, regular socials, live music events, workshops with local and international artists, and community celebrations that have brought hundreds of people together. We've also worked to support Forró musicians, teachers, DJs, venues, volunteers, and other organisations that share our vision of helping the community thrive.

One example of this spirit of collaboration was during the Festa Junina celebrations, where Luzia (Gerson's mum) generously made the traditional Quadrilha costumes for our volunteers. These costumes allowed our team to perform and volunteer at Festa Junina events, helping celebrate Brazilian culture while supporting other organisations within our community.

Today, one of our biggest challenges is the cost and logistics of hiring sound equipment for our events. Owning a quality community sound system will allow us to:

• Host more community events throughout the year.

• Reduce event costs and make activities more accessible.

• Support volunteers by simplifying event logistics.

• Make equipment available for community initiatives whenever possible.

• Continue creating spaces where people can dance, connect, and feel part of something special.
