Foundational Supports Webinar - What we have heard
Event description
Join us for a webinar to learn about 'What we've heard' so far about Foundational Supports.
At this webinar we will present some key themes and insights from the consultations so far.
Governments are working together to design and deliver additional supports in the community. These are known as Foundational Supports.
Foundational Supports are specific supports that would be outside the NDIS to help people with disability, and their families and carers.
There are two types of Foundational Supports we have been talking to people in the community about so far:
- General Supports: information, advice, capacity building and peer supports
- Targeted Supports: for children under 9 with developmental concern, delay and/or disability and their families, carers and kin.Â
An introductory webinar was held on 20 September about General Supports and the video of that webinar is available to watch.
About the event
The event will be held via Zoom. It will go for 1.5 hours. *A link to access the event will be emailed to you when you register and in the reminder emails.
This webinar is an opportunity to:
- find out more about some of the ideas people have raised about Foundational Supports
- Provide further input about these ideas or others you'd like to contribute (via an interactive online tool)
You do not need to do anything to prepare for this webinar.
Due to a large number of attendees, this event will be broadcast-only but you will be able to contribute via Zoom QnA and an online tool. Details to contribute will be provided during the webinar.
Feedback received through these engagement activities is informing work on the design of Foundational Supports.
The event will be recorded. AÂ recording of the event will be made available at DSS Engage.
Accessibility
The webinar will include:
- Auslan interpreters that can be seen on the screen at all times
- Live captions that can be accessed via a separate screen if needed.
Please let us know if you have any additional accessibility requirements when you register for the event.
