WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MINDFULNESS?
Jon Kabat-Zinn (an American Professor Emeritus of Medicine and the creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School) says “Mindfulness is the awareness that arises from paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, moment by moment and non-judgementally”.
✔ Reduced stress and anxiety
✔ Improved sleeping patterns
✔ Less self-judgement and more self-acceptance
✔ Greater feelings of joy and freedom
✔ Improved mental health
✔ Effective ways to work with difficult thoughts and emotions
“Mindfulness helps you to keep your thoughts in the present moment. As you practice, you tend to get better at calming the mind and keeping things in perspective. ” — Dr Grant Blashki is a practising GP and Beyond Blue’s lead Clinical Advisor

MEET YOUR FACILITATOR – RAMONA LANE
Hi I’m Ramona. My journey with mindfulness and meditation began in the mid-90s during an extremely challenging period in my life. Seeking a way to navigate deep anxiety and depression, I turned to mindfulness, discovering its profound ability to bring calm, clarity and resilience. This personal experience led me to commit to a daily mindfulness practice, which has since become the foundation of my life and work.
I am a Certified Mindfulness coach with Mindfulness Works Australia, a fully trained Mindfulness Meditation teacher with the Australian Centre for Mindfulness and Meditation (ACMM) and a mindfulness teacher who has completed the esteemed two-year training programme with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
Through decades of practice, I have found Mindfulness to be an invaluable tool for managing stress, cultivating presence and deepening self-awareness. Through my business, Tara Labyrinth and Meditation, I now share these science-backed techniques with others, guiding them toward greater ease, balance and well-being in their everyday lives. I have many years of experience in guiding people towards inner peace and mindfulness and host regular meditation sessions, specialising in integrating walking meditation with traditional meditation techniques.
I love to make mindfulness and meditation a nurturing experience for everyone.
