FPMTA Pilgrimage with Geshe Zopa - Ladakh 2025

Event description

PILGRIMAGE TO LADAKH WITH GESHE TENZIN ZOPA 2025

Join us for this rare opportunity to visit the land of Little Tibet located on the Tibetan plateau. We take in ancient monasteries, shrines and statues built by Buddhist saints and kings such as Guru Padmasambhava, and visit special lakes, landscapes and villages. Throughout our more than two weeks together, Buddhist master Geshe Tenzin Zopa guides us as our hearts become immersed in the blessings of these places.

Our time together takes in Saka Dawa, one of the four great holy days of the Tibetan calendar, where we celebrate Shakyamuni Buddha’s display of powerful deeds for sentient beings’ sake - a perfect chance for us to practice positive actions which are magnified by the heart-opening benefits of pilgrimage. We visit the children's centre at Ngari Institute, which educates around 100 children from remote villages of Ladakh, and many other monastic communities. See our website page which contains a full itinerary as well as other details such as costs.

Our highly experienced and skilled team of guides - Amber and Mani Tamang of Three Jewels Adventures and their local Ladakhi guide have run such pilgrimages for over 25 years. They join the FPMTA pilgrimage coordinator in looking after pilgrims' safety, wellbeing and happiness on the trip. Amber and Mani supported FPMTA's last pilgrimage with Geshe Zopa and have led many other pilgrimages and treks with Venerable Robina Courtin and other Buddhist organisations over many years.
