Fractured Fairytales: A Theatre and Audio Storytelling Adventure
Event description
🎙️ Fractured Fairytales: A Theatre & Audio Storytelling Adventure for kids
A theatrical twist on classic tales—brought to life behind the mic!
Step into the world of the fractured fairytales, and podcasting fun!
In this imaginative workshop, kids dive into character through theatre games and improvisation, then rehearse and record their very own audio play version of a whimsical, reimagined fairy tale. In this theatrical experience, every child becomes both actor and storyteller—creating a downloadable podcast episode to be proud of!
What happens:
- Warm up with fun theatre games, voice work, and character-based improvisations to get into the acting groove
- Choose or be assigned a role in a fractured fairytale script—think Cinderella with attitude or the Big Bad Wolf on a redemption arc
- Rehearse lines and explore character development with support from a playful theatre facilitator
- Record the entire story as an audio play in the Dunn Lewis podcast studio, complete with sound effects!
- Celebrate with a link to the final product to share with family and friends
🎭 Best for: Junior performers aged 8–12 who love to read
🎧 Final product: A fun audio play recording families can enjoy
