Framework #43: Fatal Crush

Come celebrate the launch of Framework's 43rd issue, Closer, with us at Fatal Crush!

Fatal Crush is our launch event and reading night for UNSW Art and Design's experimental arts and writing publication, Framework. For our first issue of 2025, we asked writers to respond to the theme Closer:

How close can we get to something before we become a part of it?

To dissolve, to denature, to meld, to assimilate; the invisible lines that structure our world and separate us (physically, or otherwise) are distorted when we unfocus our eyes. Artworks become shapes, objects blur together, the spaces between tangibility and intangibility bleed into one another. 

To get closer is to acknowledge proximity: detachment, repulsion/intimacy, yearning (to stay or to leave), communing, crowding, distance, assortment.
