Event description

If you've ever wanted to build on your portraiture skills, then this is the workshop for you! Held at the beautiful Magpie Springs Winery in Willunga Hill (1870 Brookman Rd, Willunga Hill, South Australia 5172), you will spend a day  learning the process that Fred Whitson uses when creating his portraiture, discovering the processes and tools that he uses in his art. Starting at 9:30am, you will spend part of the morning observing Fred draw from life with a portraiture model, and have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss.

Then it's your turn to use the techniques and approach that have been shown earlier, to create your own portrait of the live model! A materials list is shown here, should you choose to purchase beforehand the same materials and tools that Fred will be using, but this is not a requirement (see below). The workshop will conclude at 3:30pm. Please note that you will need to bring your own lunch on the day, and tea/coffee/wine are available at Magpie Springs.
