Event description

As part of their commitment to the permaculture ethic of 'fair share', Meg McGowan and Graham King have dedicated almost half of their 1.6 hectare property at Matcham as 'zone five'. They have been restoring and regenerating this area for over 25 years.

Join them for a day of bush regeneration with a professional team from the Community Environment Network, paid for by Meg and Graham. Learn the fundamentals of regeneration, including the importance of riparian zones and proper plant selection, before joining professional regenerators for some practical, hands-on experience.

Please bring your own lunch and a water bottle. Fresh fruit will be provided along with filtered rain water and home made water kefir.

Dress for regeneration in a long sleeved shirt, long pants, closed in boots and gloves. Gaters are recommended and we can loan you some if you don't have any. Tropical strength aeroguard will be supplied to help you avoid leech and tick bites.

Participants need to be physically fit and free from any allergies that might cause anaphylactic reactions.

Our address will be sent out the day before the event.

Please check COVID restrictions closer to the event to determine your own eligibility.

This event is FREE to participants. There is an opportunity at checkout to make a donation to one of Meg and Graham's favourite charities, The Ethos Foundation. It's run by permaculture legend Morag Gamble with 100% of all donations going directly to people practicing permaculture in disadvantaged parts of the world. Morag donates her considerable expertise and time as part of her 'fair share' commitment. Please support her work if you can afford to do so.
