Free Compost Event - September 2026

Compost made from Greater Bendigo’s kerbside organics collection will be available for free on Saturday September 26, 2026.

Small, 6x4 household trailer-size loads and prebagged compost will be available for collection from the City of Greater Bendigo’s Depot in Golden Square, entry via Thistle Street. 

Bookings are essential and can be made from Monday September 14 to Friday September 25, unless fully booked prior.

Places are only open to Greater Bendigo residents and are limited to one per household. This event is likely to sell out so book early and be prepared to queue while cars and trailers are loaded on the day.

Trailer load tickets: please remember to bring a tarp to cover your compost. You will not be able to enter if you aren’t able to cover your trailer.

Waitlist

• If the event is fully booked, please join our waitlist. If a ticket becomes available, it will be offered to the next person on the list.

• Please note that waitlist offers are valid for 30 minutes only. After this time, the ticket will be released to the next person in line. This timeframe is set by our ticketing system and cannot be changed.

Eligibility

• Strict limits of 1 booking per household apply. Multiple or duplicate bookings will be cancelled and reallocated.

• Only City of Greater Bendigo residents are eligible for this event. You will be required to provide your address during the registration process.

• Residents with an exemption from the kerbside organics collection service are not eligible for this event. If registered, tickets will be cancelled and reallocated.
