Free Fares film screening of Bus Riders Union & community discussion
Event description
Free Fares NZ invites you to a screening of the inspiring film, Bus Riders Union (1999. Director, Haskell Wexler; co-director and editor, Johanna Demetrakas), The film is about the Los Angeles mass movement for better bus services. After the film, Free Fares national organising team member Mika Hervel will give a brief update on our campaign for affordable public transport (for climate, equity and community). Lastly, we'll have a community discussion, facilitated by Te Whare Hapori o Ngā Puna Waiora Activist in Residence Frances Mountier, reflecting on what we might take from the film, and our work for Free Fares over the next couple of years.
Doors open 3:45pm, film starts at 4pm. Followed by brief campaign update, then community discussion.
