FREE Guided Tour at Auburn Gallipoli Mosque
Description
This tour is part of the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque Community Festival, taking place on the 15th and 16th of May. As part of the festival, we are offering a range of free activities across both days, celebrating and sharing the richness of traditional Ottoman culture with the wider community.
Step into one of Sydney’s most iconic places of worship with a guided tour of Auburn Gallipoli Mosque. Built over 13 years and completed in 1999, the mosque has grown to become a central hub for the Turkish community and a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds.
Explore its stunning Ottoman style architecture, from intricate interior details to its grand design, and discover why it is often described as a true jewel of Auburn. Tours are led by long-time knowledgeable members of the mosque, offering meaningful insight into its history, purpose and daily life.
This is also an open and welcoming space to ask questions about religion, culture and practices, making it a valuable experience for anyone interested in learning more. After your tour, you are invited to stay and take in the atmosphere of the mosque, explore the courtyard activities and stalls, and listen for the beautiful adhan (call to prayer) as it echoes through the space.
