Free Inclusive Education Workshop for Education Staff 2026

Learn about Disability Inclusive Education

Inclusive education means everyone belongs. Students learn together, with access to the right supports, in an environment that ensures everyone can participate, grow, and succeed.

We will show you how small changes can have a big impact for students, and how teachers can make a huge difference even when they are time-poor.

You will leave with an understanding attitudinal barriers faced by students with disability, as well as strategies for inclusion through Universal Design for Learning and using adjustments and accommodations in the classroom.

All education staff are welcome to attend this free workshop, including teachers, leadership, educational support workers and pre-service teachers from Reception to Year 12, from all sectors.

Workshops are facilitated by people with disability, who bring a wealth of knowledge of disability and education from their own personal and professional lives, with a background in Education.

This free workshop is appropriate for those who have minimal prior knowledge of disability, as well as offering a fresh perspective to those who have significant experience in the sector. We will introduce the concept of attitudinal barriers faced by students with disability, and discuss using adjustments to help students thrive in the classroom.

The 2 hour online session covers:

• Inclusive Education- why and how?

• Adjustments and accommodations for students with disability in the classroom

• Universal Design for Learning for inclusive education for all students

• Social model of disability

• Attitudes and unconscious bias

• Monday 10th August 2026 (*with a live captioner)

• Wednesday 21st October 2026

This 2 hour workshop will be online via Microsoft Teams at 4:00pm - 6:00pm ACST (Adelaide time).
