Building Inclusive Connections: Engaging with the LGBTQIA+ Community
Join us for a friendly and informative 1.5 hour session designed to boost your confidence and understanding when interacting with LGBTQIA+ community members in everyday life.
This event offers practical guidance, thoughtful discussion, and a welcoming space to ask questions and learn. Whether you're an ally or simply looking to grow your awareness, this session will help you build more inclusive and respectful connections addressing common questions including:
- What do LGBTQIA+ and different terms for gender and sexuality mean?
- What should I know about the trans community?
- Why is inclusion important?
- What are some ways I can be an ally?
This event will be located in the seminar room on the bottom floor of the library. Entry will be from the rear car park as the main building will be closed at this time. There will be signs to guide you in the right direction.
Please reach out to Vanessa Harshman at Upper Hunter Community Services on 6542 3555 or vharshman@uhcs.org.au for more information.
