About the webinar
Babies are wired to respond to a special kind of speech – the sing-song, expressive style often called infant-directed speech or “parentese.” But why does it matter so much?
In this practical and engaging talk, you’ll discover:
What infant-directed speech is and why babies love it
How tone, rhythm, and exaggeration support brain development
Simple ways to boost language during everyday routines
You’ll leave with concrete tools you can use immediately to strengthen your child’s language and connection.
About Dr Eylem Altuntas
Dr Eylem Altuntas is a postdoctoral researcher in brain sciences with a focus on developmental language processes in infants. Her research delves into how young children acquire their first language and the significant role that caregiver speech plays in this early learning phase. She combines methodologies from brain sciences and behaviour analysis to explore speech perception dynamics and phonological abstraction in early childhood.
