Event description

The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey (UACNJ) will host a free public astronomy presentation at our observatory in the Jenny Jump State Forest in New Jersey. A presentation on an astronomy related topic will begin promptly at 8:00 pm. (Please arrive no earlier than 7:30PM).

The entire presentation will be outdoors. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on.

Parking is available on-site and is limited, when you arrive a volunteer will greet you at the entrance (by our big sign) to direct you for parking. Please arrive before 8:00 pm so you don't miss the presentation!

After the presentation, weather permitting, we will open the observatories for star gazing. You will have the opportunity to look through the telescopes. The sky gazing will end at 10:30 pm.

We may have digital cameras attached to some of the telescopes to provide live images of a planet, star, galaxy or nebula.

A volunteer will guide you through a tour of the objects you'll be looking at.

Our programs are weather-dependent and may be cancelled. We will notify you through Humanitix if there is a cancellation.
