As Director of Think Feel Thrive, ProfessioNails Logan, MyTime Accounting, and Co-Founder of ICT Innovations, TourTracked, and Women In Bloom, Alexis drives impact across industries. She sits on several boards and contributes to economic and community growth, advocating for women’s empowerment, leadership, and employment initiatives that create opportunities for the Logan community.
Liz Irvine, Chief Design Officer, Thriving Local
Liz Irvine is a respected advocate and ambassador for the City of Logan, known for her long-standing commitment to actively fostering economic participation and championing community-development.
With over a decade of experience spanning business development, employment, training, education, and public service, Liz brings a wealth of knowledge and trusted relationships to every initiative she leads within THRIVING Local.
Believing education is the epicentre of society, she is passionate about industry investing more into Logan High Schools - helping students reach their full potential and supporting increasing workforce demands to drive local + global outcomes.
Pursuing tertiary education, as a Social Scientist, Liz recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Human Services. She is deeply committed to advancing policy and practice in the areas of economic inclusion, education, equity, and equality.
Ellie Campbell, People & Pathways Coordinator, Civik People
Ellie Campbell is a People & Pathways Manager at Civik People, a non-profit social enterprise that supports refugees and humanitarian entrants to secure sustainable employment with Australian businesses. In her role, Ellie specialises in helping companies diversify their workforce by connecting them with skilled, job-ready candidates from culturally diverse backgrounds. She also works closely with jobseekers to build their confidence and navigate the path to meaningful employment. Ellie is passionate about creating inclusive, equitable pathways that benefit both individuals and organisations.
Sara Shams, Founder, Ethnobility Consultancy
Sara Shams is a pharmacist, founder, speaker, model, and award-winning advocate for disability rights, diversity, and inclusion. As a double above-knee amputee and proud woman of colour, Sara brings a powerful intersectional lens to her work – challenging outdated narratives around disability, gender, and culture.
She is the founder of Ethnobility Consultancy, where she advises businesses and organisations on how to build authentically inclusive workplaces – from recruitment and hiring practices to workplace culture and employee retention.
An IDPWD ambassador and recipient of the 2024 QLD Minister’s Multicultural Award, Sara is a sought-after speaker and board director whose lived expertise informs systemic change. She is especially passionate about amplifying the voices of people with disabilities from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
