Free safeguarding webinar | Safeguarding for NDIS Participants and families/supporters
Event description
People with disability can be more vulnerable to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
However, NDIS providers can take measures to protect them. This is known as ‘safeguarding’.
This free 1 hour online information session will help NDIS participants and their families/supporters to:
• Understand what safeguarding is
• Understand what providers should be doing to keep you/your loved one safe
• Identify red and green flags (good and bad practice)
• Ask your providers the right questions about what they are doing to ensure they are protecting clients from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
This free 1 hour online session will apply the Building Blocks of Safeguarding Culture to provide an easy way to approach safeguarding in the NDIS.
This session is part of a larger project ‘Compliance and Beyond – Safeguarding people with disability for NDIS workers and providers’ which is funded by the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Grants Program, and delivered by Micah Projects in partnership with BBSafe.
