Free Screenwriting Adaptation Workshop with SF3 & Spineless Wonders
Event description
Join the world leaders in smartphone filmmaking, SF3, and acclaimed Sydney publishing house, Spineless Wonders, for this free workshop on screen adaptation. During this 1.5 hour workshop you will learn the skills of taking a short story and adapting it into a screenplay for a short film.
Leading creatives Helen Meany and Oscar Morphew will be teaching the workshop. Bronwyn Mehan from Spineless Wonders will be showcasing the micro-fictions and short fictions available for adaptation and Angela Blake will facilitate and talk about the SF3 & Spineless Wonders Best Adaptation Award which is open for entries until October 1st.

Helen Meany's Bio:
Helen Meany is a screenwriter and author with a background in animation,
documentary, and fiction. A Viva la Novella winner and UTS Creative
Writing graduate, she’s currently completing a Master of Screenwriting
at AFTRS. Her work includes children’s TV, interactive storytelling, and
archive-based documentaries for the ABC.
Oscar Morphew's Bio:
Oscar is a writer, story editor and filmmaker based in Sydney. After completing his training at AFTRS and the Sydney Actors School, Oscar went on to work throughout the industry, both behind and in front
of the camera.
His short film The Dark Room received both Best Actor and Best Film at
the national Robin Anderson Awards. He has also won several short film
competitions and received various awards for his short story writing. He is currently working on his debut novel.
