Free Virtual Workshop: How to Move Abroad in 30 days ✈️
Event description
How to Move Abroad in 30 Days
Empowering BIPOC, queer, and first-gen Americans to build a life abroad.
Are you looking to leave the U.S. because you no longer feel safe as a marginalized person under the current administration? You’re not alone. I’ve been exactly where you are.
I’m a therapist and financial empowerment coach who left the U.S. in 2018 during Trump’s first presidency. Since then, I’ve built a life abroad, including time in Australia and other countries, while working remotely. As a first-gen daughter of immigrants, I never imagined this was possible for me. I didn’t know where to start — and that’s why I’m hosting this free online class.
🌍 What You’ll Learn
This session is for people who’ve decided they want to leave, but worry that it “takes a lot of money.” I’ll share my exact 30-day plan, travel hacks, and mindset shifts that make it doable—even without privilege or a perfect plan.
We’ll cover:
How to move abroad on a modest budget (even if you're living paycheck to paycheck)
Travel hacks that have allowed me to save thousands over the years on flights, accommodation/rent, car rentals, travel gear, and more.
Visa pathways & practical logistics for U.S. (and other) passport holders
How to become a digital nomad or work remotely (realistic income options)
Steps to build community & find queer/BIPOC-affirming spaces abroad
Emotional & financial tools to support your transition
My personal example in Australia: what I did to move abroad, how I spent 9 months traveling Australia without paying for accommodation or rent, how I obtained permanent residency in Australia, what I’d repeat, and what I’d skip
💬 Why This Class Matters
As a therapist supporting womxn of color and daughters of immigrants, I know how heavy the current political climate can feel. Changing your environment can be life-giving. And as a financial empowerment coach, I also know that money anxiety and mental health are deeply connected — gaining mobility and clear numbers can be profoundly healing.
🌐 Who This Is For
Womxn of color seeking safer, more affirming spaces abroad
First-gen daughters of immigrants exploring a life overseas
Marginalized folks — including the LGBTQ+ community — are curious about remote work and relocation
Anyone who feels “stuck” and believes their budget is too tight to make a move.
While I hold a U.S. passport, I’m also the daughter of formerly undocumented Mexican immigrant parents. I’ll share insights for the undocumented community and for those with other passports seeking international relocation resources.
