Event description

Is your organisation trying to put an end to cruelty, achieve better outcomes for marginalised communities, turn the dial on climate change, or simply create a fairer world? If so, there’s a good chance your nonprofit is involved in advocacy.

In this webinar, you’ll hear from Anthony Tassone, Victorian President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, who is passionate about equal access to prescription medicines in a country where low- and middle-income households are delaying or forgoing medications they cannot afford. This, in turn, perpetuates existing disadvantage and places a heavier burden on the nation’s healthcare system.

Anthony will be joined by Stephen Thirgood, CEO of the Curious Minds Media team, who have helped The Pharmacy Guild develop a strategy to get their message heard.

You’ll learn:

· What is at the heart of advocacy – what does it mean, why does it matter and what difference has it already made for the Pharmacy Guild?

· What digital channels the Pharmacy Guild have used for the campaign and how effective each of those channels have been

· How to secure earned (non-paid) media for your campaign

· How to get in the ear of government! Top tips for government relations

· What has worked, what hasn’t and campaign learnings to date

This is an election year, and advocacy has never been so important. So whether you’re in a Marketing-Communications-Media role responsible for your organisation’s advocacy work, a fundraiser supporting advocacy initiatives in your NFP, or you work for a health-related organisation that will benefit from the Pharmacy Guild’s campaign, we encourage you to join this enlightening and informative one-hour webinar
