Join us at a Community Cultural Burn Workshop at Kawalang with Koori Country Cultural Fire Aboriginal Corporation. Learn traditional Aboriginal methods of using cultural fire to care for Country.
Where: Kawalang, Bucketty / Murrays Run
When: 9.30am-3.30pm, April 1-2
Attendance both days required. No Sunday option.
What to wear: PPE or 100% cotton long sleeve shirts, long pants, sunscreen, safety glasses/goggles, enclosed heat/slip resistant walking boots and gloves
What to bring: small day pack, 1-2 litre water bottle, snacks, first aid items, smoke mask, towel, matches, rake
What is provided: instruction in traditional methods of burning country; lunch at Kawalang
This event is free. Space is limited. Registration essential. Sign up for the waitlist as places may become available closer to the workshop date.
Reminder: For your own wellbeing and in consideration of others, do not come if you are feeling ill. Please carpool if possible.
