Description

It's all about that Base Chakra!

The Base Chakra — or Root Chakra — is our energetic foundation. Known in Sanskrit as Muladhara, meaning “root support,” this chakra anchors us into the Earth, into our bodies, and into the deep wisdom of our ancestry. Located at the base of the spine, it holds the stories, patterns, and survival instincts passed through our bloodline and soulline, inviting us into a deeper connection with where we come from and who we are becoming.

When our Base Chakra feels nourished and balanced, we begin to feel safe, grounded, and supported by life itself. A quiet inner trust emerges — a sense that we belong here, that the Earth can hold us, and that we are safe to fully inhabit our lives. As this foundation strengthens, the energy within the rest of the chakra system can flow more freely, bringing greater vitality, stability, and balance to our whole being.

In Chakradance, we awaken the energy of the Base Chakra through primal movement, rhythm, and deep embodiment. We may imagine ourselves dancing around an ancient campfire, reconnecting with the wisdom of our ancestors and the pulse of the tribal drum. Inspired by the instinctual movements of the animal kingdom, we allow the body to move freely and intuitively — awakening our connection to the Earth, our instincts, and the wild wisdom within.

What to bring:

  • yoga mat

  • layers of clothing for the elements, including socks
