What is Transformational Dance?

Transformational Dance (TD) is an innovative modality that blends dance, authentic self-expression, human connection, and personal growth. The modality combines techniques, processes and principles all designed to level up your confidence, creativity and dancing skills.

What to Expect

  • Guided Exercises: Simple structures that help you step into movement and expression.

  • Connection: Solo, partner, and group experiences that bring people together.

  • Freedom: A space where you can move without pressure, expectation, or judgment.

  • A Global Movement Practice: Jackson has facilitated over 250 Transformational Dance workshops internationally across festivals, retreats, schools, and community spaces - positively impacted hundreds of people’s lives.

This is for you if…

  • You want to feel more confident dancing

  • You’ve always wanted to dance but felt held back

  • You want to express yourself more freely

  • You’re looking for connection and community

Cost: $20 per adult; $10 per child. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Transformational Dance workshop is supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) from Bundaberg Regional Council. This is the last event of the Roots & Resonance Project.

  • Jackson Kubian

    Jackson Kubian

I’m a multi-disciplinary creator working across music, dance, performance, acting, writing, physical training, facilitation, and environmental advocacy. Rather than seeing them as separate, they come together as a single creative system with one shared intention: Creating experiences that move people - physically, emotionally, creatively. Born in Canada, raised on a boat in the Torres Strait Islands, now based on the Sunshine Coast. My life has always moved between places, cultures, and ways of seeing the world. I combine a practical framework for experiencing freedom in movement - creating a space where people feel safe to explore, express, and grow. My focus is on dance as a tool for transformation in your life. Dance is in our DNA - it’s our birthright.

  • Hannah Reed

    Hannah Reed

Hannah Reed is a Bundaberg-based dance artist, facilitator, and community arts leader, and the founder of Baylando Latin Fusion—Bundaberg’s vibrant hub for Latin music, dance, and cultural connection. With a deep passion for bringing people together through movement, Hannah has been instrumental in growing a thriving Latin dance community in the region, creating inclusive spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, express themselves, and experience the joy of dance. Her practice draws on a range of Afro-Caribbean and Latin dance traditions, including salsa, bachata, samba, and carnival styles. Hannah’s teaching approach blends technique with accessibility, focusing on building confidence, musicality, and embodied awareness while maintaining a strong emphasis on fun, participation, and community spirit. Through regular classes, workshops, performances, and social dance events, she has supported hundreds of participants to engage with dance as a form of creative expression and social connection. Hannah’s work is underpinned by a commitment to cultural respect and ongoing learning. She actively seeks opportunities to train with and learn from experienced artists, ensuring her work remains grounded, authentic, and responsive. Her recent support through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) has enabled her to further develop her skills and expand her offerings within the Bundaberg region. Beyond teaching, Hannah is also a creative producer and collaborator, contributing to local arts initiatives that prioritise accessibility, wellbeing, and intercultural exchange. Through Baylando and her broader artistic practice, she continues to champion the role of music and movement as powerful tools for connection, celebration, and community building.
