Freewrite Virtual Writing Circles - Short Shorts: Writing Flash Prose

Join us for a 90-minute creative writing workshop focusing on writing short, complete pieces, sometimes called “flash fiction” or “micro essays.” We’ll use generative prompts to spark the imagination and a revision exercise to refine what you create. By the end of the session, you’ll have at least one fresh, complete, short-short piece.

No writing experience required! Led by a Write Around Portland volunteer facilitator, Freewrite consists of writing, sharing, and giving strengths-based feedback to each other. (Sharing is optional!)

Freewrite online sessions are 90 minutes long. Your facilitator will give you prompts to inspire your work, but feel free to write whatever you want!
