Event description

Let's kick-start 2025 with a great photowalk event in Fremantle!

Date: Saturday 18 January 2025
Duration: 10.30am - 12noon
Price: $12.50 (which includes a $10 voucher to Venture Photography Workshops classes and events)
Location: Fremantle

Join us for a 90-minute photowalk around Fremantle's newest entertainment and tourism district as we delve into the urban side of Freo!

In "Freo Forms", we will be focusing on shapes, forms, light and lines -- capturing interesting and artistic expressions of Fremantle's new urban environment. Here, shades of modern architecture mingle with more classical heritage and maritime designs. It's where light, colour and architecture blends to create a great setting for urban landscape photography!

This photowalk will also show you how to "walk slowly and see more" -- a great philosophy to help you become more observant and in-tune with the environment you are exploring with your camera.

Plus, it's a great way to meet other photographers and, if you haven't tried urban photography before, then it's a great intro to the style and genre!

This photo walk has a $12.50 fee, payable when you register. The fee includes a discount code for $10 that you can use for our workshops in the first half of 2025. There is a reason for implementing a fee: in previous years events, which were cost free, we have had lots of people book who just don't turn up at all, which means that their spots could have been offered to others. To encourage those who book to attend, we're implementing this fee which is substantially off-set by the discount code. The discount code will be emailed to registrants after this event.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Your interchangeable lens camera (DSLR or Mirrorless).
  • A general zoom lens that covers anywhere from 28mm to 200mm.
  • Memory card and fully charged camera battery.
