Event description

Are you struggling to get things to grow in your garden during the heat of the WA summers? Do you struggle with maintaining rich soil nutrients in the face of the coastal sands?

Wicking garden beds can be the perfect solution to many garden problems - including lack of water, root competition with surrounding trees and shallow soils.

Come along to the next Freo Permies workshop to learn how wicking beds work, why and when they are a good choice ,and how to make one of your own. We will also get hands-on experience constructing one for Sarah and Brendan.

This workshop includes morning tea and the opportunity to take home materials to make your own mini wicking bed.

The event is in Beaconsfield - and the address will be emailed to you when you purchase a ticket.

Bring: Garden gloves, covered shoes, hat, good vibes.

Cost: $10 for materials and food + Humanitix fee (all humanitix fees are donated for purpose).

Please let us know of any dietary requirements or accessibility needs.

Please also note the Freo Permies is a sub-group of Permaculture West. We encourage people to consider joining and nominating Freo Permies as their local group. Benefits of membership include that you're covered by insurance for all events. If you're not a member please note you'll be participating in the event at your own risk. :) To find out more about permaculture west, including how to sign up, please check out this site HERE.
