Welcome to the Velvet Underground. With black leather and shades after dark, we are here to cast a shadowy spell of avant-garde discomfort to nourish your soul. With our gritty beats, haunting lyrics and mesmerizing melodies, get ready to immerse yourself in neo-punk rock and relish the return of the revolution ~ We are Chavez Cartel. 

Hailing from Queensland’s Gold Coast, after signing to End of The Trail Records in November 2022, Chavez Cartel released their first EP ‘Man’s Best Friend’ in May 2023 and set off on a promotional tour of East Coast Australia with shows in Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay,  Sydney and Melbourne. 

After supporting The Reyton’s on their Official UK  Number 1 Album - ‘What’s Rock N Roll’ Australian tour, Chavez Cartel performed at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, England as part of their landmark UK tour where they headlined shows in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and at the End Of The Trail Creative Showcase in London, gaining support from BBC Radio and featuring on BBC Introducing.  Off the back of this success, Chavez Cartel returned to Queensland, playing as support act for The Delta Riggs at the Rockhampton River Festival in July 2023. 

A new 6 track EP titled ‘Red Flag Blues’, recorded and engineered by ARIA Award Winning Producer - Govinda Doyle (Angus & Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane) was released in February 2024, just in time for their official invite to The New Colossus Festival, New York in early March 2024. After playing unofficial shows for SXSW in Austin, Texas, Chavez Cartel became a Breakout Artist of Year finalist for the coveted Gold Coast Music Awards in August 2024. 

As Chavez Cartel set their sights on finishing their LP, Australia will see them tour throughout the first half of 2025, assuring their fan base that they will skyrocket worldwide.

DARREN JACK BIO

For over 20 years, Darren Jack has been thrilling audiences in Australia with his powerhouse rock, blues and electrifying original compositions. A multiple award winner, Darren Jack has collaborated with some of Australia’s finest musicians. His passionate performances throughout the country (both band and solo), regularly prove why he is regarded as one of Australia’s top Blues musicians.

In 2021, Darren Jack produced his most ambitious album yet. Lost in Living is a tour de force of song writing and musicianship. On its release, Lost in Living stormed up the Australian Blues Charts, spending weeks at number 3 and once again, showcasing his powerful vocals and mastery of the guitar. From the roaring electric blues of the title track Lost in Living to acoustic gems like Deep Blue Ocean, Deep Blue Sea.
