ABOUT

Irene’s passion for healthy food and living has driven her on a remarkable journey of fermentation.

Over the years, she has experimented with various ferments, including vegetables, yoghurts, vegan yoghurts, fermented drinks; perfecting recipes that would become the foundation of her brand, Irene’s Gourmet, which supplies retail stores and restaurants in South Africa, earning a reputation for high-quality, nourishing products.

Irene takes pride in sourcing ingredients from local, small-scale organic farmers and growers, as well as growing some of her own produce.

Now living on Waiheke Island, her enthusiasm for healthy, ethical food extends beyond just making it; she is deeply committed to sharing the incredible health benefits of ferments.
