Sun, 20 Sep, 9:30am - 12pm NZST

Description

We are teaming up with Friends of Grey Lynn Park who have transformed the Rose Road Gully within the park into a little haven! They have been planting, weeding and removing rubbish so that everyone can enjoy the bush, the birds and the sculptures that were located there several years ago along this attractive walkway.

We will be helping them with an easy weeding bee to help keep on top of some invasive ground weeds. We’d love you to join us! Come explore this little slice of beauty in Grey Lynn, meet some locals and see what might be hidden through the walkway...it could be muddy so wear robust footwear and gloves. A hand trowel would be handy if you have one.

Don’t worry if you’re a newbie, we’ll have experts on hand to teach you how to tell your ecological weeds from your natives. We’re into learning together.

Please register for this event so we know how much gear and catering to bring.

Meet: to the east of the large wooden archway at the entrance to Rose Road Gully from the playing fields (access to the base of the Gully from the surrounding roads is opposite 83 and 93 Rose Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland, 1021).

Urban Ark will provide:

-Tools and gloves (but feel free to bring your own).

-Refreshments when the mahi is done.

This project is generously supported by Auckland Council's Healthy Waters Team.
