Friends of K Valley - are you interested?
Description
Are you looking for ways to get active in the outdoors in the company of like minded people, while doing something positive for nature? Join the Friends of K Valley!
Kōpūrererua (K) Valley, the biggest urban wetland reserve in New Zealand, may be right on your doorstep. You may already walk, run, cycle there and enjoy its wildlife and history. If you haven't yet discovered this environmental jewel in the heart of Tauranga City, here's your opportunity.
Friends of K Valley care group will be launched on 20th September.
If this sounds like you, join us to support the Valley's biodiversity and cultural value and enhance its power to help reduce climate change and flood risk.
The Friends of K Valley will meet regularly to expand on over twenty years of hard work by neighbours, mana whenua, Ngai Tamarāwaho, Rotary, Tauranga City Council and others. To begin with, we'll focus on planting, animal and plant pest management and monitoring. “Where next” will be decided by you!
Register your interest below or turn up to the Community Planting on Sunday 20th September to check us out first. See https://events.humanitix.com/k-valley-community-planting
