Frog ID Dinner Lake Cowal
Event description
Join Murrumbidgee Landcare and the Lake Cowal Conservation Centre for a frog discovery dinner along the Lake Cowal waterfront.
FrogID Week is coming up and we are holding a citizen science survey.
Most frogs are hard to see, hidden in the vegetation, in the water or some distance away. Unless you see the frog, the most common way to identify them is by their call. Using the free FrogID app, you can record the frogs sound and submit the survey for analysis. On the night, we will be using the app to record our survey.
Frogs that have been previously recorded at Lake Cowal which we may encounter on the night include:
- The Desert Tree Frog
- Spotted March Frog
- Striped Marsh Frog
- Peron's Tree Frog
- Green Tree Frog
- Giant Banjo Frog
- Eastern Sign-bearing Froglet
- Sudell's Frog
- Crucifix Frog
Participants are asked to wear enclosed walking shoes, long pants and a hat, bring a water bottle, and mosquito repellent.
BBQ Dinner $10, to be paid on the evening.
