FrogWatch Public: Emerson Pointe Preserve
Event description
Join us for an exciting opportunity to explore the amphibians of our local preserves! This frog monitoring program will guide participants in identifying and recording various frog species found throughout the county. As part of a new citizen science initiative, you'll contribute valuable data to the national FrogWatch USA database, helping scientists track frog populations and monitor their health. The program will begin with an informative session on frog identification and monitoring techniques, followed by small group activities where participants will visit different ponds to listen for and document frog calls.
It’s a fun and educational experience for all ages, perfect for nature lovers and budding scientists!
We will meet in the parking lot right before sunset when the frogs start to come out! We will provide headlamps, timers, and all the tools needed to monitor.
If you enjoy it, you can even learn how to become Frog Watch Certified in one of our training classes!
