From AI to evidence: Finding, evaluating and citing sources you can trust
Description
AI tools can help you think about your research - but they can't do your research for you. They can invent sources, misrepresent arguments, and produce reference lists that look right but frequently aren't. Meanwhile, the best academic evidence sits in databases AI can't reach, organised around your discipline in ways a chatbot simply doesn't understand.
This session gives you a practical three-stage research pathway - find it, evaluate it, cite it - built around the tools and skills that actually hold up under academic scrutiny. You'll learn how to use AI legitimately in your search process, how to evaluate what it gives you using established frameworks, and how to verify and cite sources in ways that protect your academic integrity. Delivered by the University Library, with direct links to discipline-specific guides and databases relevant to your field.
