From Dust to Dharma: A Yogic Approach to Home Care
Event description
Saturdays March 22, 29, and April 5 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am central time. We meet via Zoom.
This series delves into the yogic niyama saucha (cleanliness) by exploring the transformative practice of cleaning your house. It connects physical tidiness with mental clarity, showing how decluttering and maintaining order can create a space of purity and harmony. Each installment offers practical tips and reflective exercises to align your environment with the principles of saucha, fostering mindfulness and a deeper connection to your living space. By integrating cleaning as a spiritual practice, this series invites you to cultivate inner and outer cleanliness for a more balanced, serene, and intentional life.
The best part is that we spent 20 minutes of each session working in our own homes. You'll be given a specific task and time to work on it during the session, which is fun, empowering, and inspiring.
In each one-hour session we:
- Check in about the pre-work (averages fifteen minutes, usually watching videos) and how things are feeling in your space.
- Learn a bit about yogic philosophies and reflect on how they apply to our physical space/emotions.
- Spend 20 minutes working in our homes based on that day’s prompt.
- Regather to share about progress made and get support on any struggles. Optional homework/challenge before the next class.
