Event description

Join us at Harmony Garden Centre from 9am–1pm on Sunday 14th September for an informative and inspiring introduction to beekeeping, hosted by Peter Norris – one of Tasmania’s most respected and experienced beekeepers.

Peter will guide you through:

  • The different types of hives

  • Basic pest and disease management

  • Essential safety equipment for beekeeping

With over 35 years’ experience, Peter’s beekeeping journey began in London, where his hobby quickly grew from a few hives to 150. Returning to Tasmania in 1999, he became a passionate advocate for protecting the leatherwood resource and now operates 800+ hives at Heritage Honey in Moonah with his wife Trisha and team. As President of the Southern Tasmanian Beekeepers Association and Vice President of the Tasmanian Beekeepers Association, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights for anyone starting out.
