Event description

Embroidery wasn’t just a hobby in early South Australia - it was a big part of everyday life. From a quilt top painstakingly pieced on the ship from England to beautifully embroidered clothes and homewares, women and girls used their needlework skills to create, decorate, and connect. Join Di Fisher, Curator of the Embroiderers Guild of South Australia Museum, to explore the surprising role embroidery played in shaping the colony’s social history.
