Join former research food scientist, gut health guru and fermenting expert, Janice Clyne of Nourished by Nature for a day packed full of inspiration, motivation and priceless information about gut health and how to support it. The gut microbiome is the command centre of the body, controlling our immunity, digestion, metabolism, mood, cravings, skin, energy, hormones and impacting every body system. It’s not static and changes according to our stress levels, what we eat & drink, medication, exercise and sleep patterns. Fermented foods are literally rocket fuel for our good gut microbes and the fastest and most delicious way to increase their numbers and diversity.
Our morning session is an in depth chat through Janice’s journey with fermented foods and drinks and their benefits, from kimchi, kraut, kombucha, kefir and sourdough and their impact on health. At the core of Janice’s message is that there is no one size fits all way to eat, no quick fix, rather introducing small changes consistently, eat real food, the best quality we can afford, eat seasonally, eat the rainbow of fruits and veggies and introduce fermented foods and drinks into our diet, which can be the key to transforming our health on every level.
Fermented foods are delicious, simple and inexpensive to make at home, which leads us to the afternoon session. Our afternoon session will be a practical demonstration of a selection of fermented foods and drinks which can easily be made at home, including Indian Inspired Carrot Kraut, Sauerkraut, Fermented veggies, kefir and kombucha. There will be a Q & A after the demonstration and an e book of Fermented Veggies recipes is included.
