From Nagano to the Ocean.

SAKE TO ME!
Japanese Sake & Oysters
Well, we’ve only gone and done it again.
After the Great Sake Import Kerfuffle of 2026 nearly left us staring sadly at an empty sake glass, our resident Spirit Guru Daniel has ridden to the rescue and secured the goods.
And Brendan? Well, Brendan has been dispatched on an equally noble mission: finding enough bloody good oysters to keep the sake company.
So, assuming the oysters cooperate, we’re heading downstairs for a seriously good Japanese knees-up.
This time we’re cracking into Tanada Sake, from the historic Nagano Meijo brewery in Obasute, Nagano — a brewery dating all the way back to 1689. Their premium Junmai sake is made with locally grown Nagano rice and pristine mountain water, with the Tanada range showcasing the character, purity and elegance of rice grown in Nagano’s famous terraced fields.
Expect beautiful sake, freshly shucked oysters, good company and the usual Red Hill Wine Club level of questionable decision-making around empty glasses.
