A journey through Russia’s soul

Join us for From Russia with Love, a lunchtime concert that takes audiences on a journey through the enchanting world of Russian music, performed by staff members on piano and cello. This captivating program highlights Russia’s rich musical traditions, from the timeless elegance of Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky to the evocative folk melodies that capture the heart of Russian culture.

The evening opens with Stravinsky’s Russian Maiden Song, setting the stage for a selection of classical and folk pieces, including Rachmaninoff’s Oriental Dance and Tchaikovsky’s Valse Sentimentale and Two Morceaux. The performance continues with Rachmaninoff’s beloved Vocalise, Rimsky-Korsakov’s lyrical Serenade, and Levina’s reflective Kanzonetta. The program then transitions into a spirited celebration of Russian folk tunes, including Kalinka, The Basso, and the ever-popular My Gypsy Girl.
