CAPSA Webinar: From Solidarity to Solutions
Event description
NOTE -Â If you can't make the event we will be sending all attendees a recording of the webinar so make sure you still reserve a ticket.
Please join us for our first ever CAPSA webinar!
This has been a tough year for many due to COVID-19. Â For people seeking asylum, the impacts have been magnified by lack of access to income support, housing, and healthcare and an uncertain future.
It's time for us to reflect together on the impact of this year’s events for people seeking asylum, the role of the Catholic community in responding to the huge level of need, what we've been able to accomplish this year and how we can continue to build hope and momentum in 2021.Â
The webinar will include a joint welcome from CAPSA co-chairs Jesuit Social Services (JSS) and Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Australia, a moderated panel discussion by Jesuit Social Services CEO Julie Edwards and more. Our expert panel will include:
Nishadh Rego, Policy, Advocacy, and Communications Manager, Jesuit Refugee Service AustraliaÂ
Josh Lourensz, Executive Director, Catholic Social Services VictoriaÂ
Idrissa Dumbuya, Advocate, Community Organiser and Leader with Lived ExperienceÂ
More speakers to be announced shortly.
Attendees will also have the chance to pose questions to our panel during Q&A.
