A Day in The Life Of A Viticulturist.
Managing grapevines is complicated, especially when wine production is the end goal. Viticulturists have an expert understanding of a vineyard's specific climate, soil, and topography and ensure the grapes grow and develop properly prior to harvesting and wine production.
Tom Southwell is the viticulturist of Johansen Wines. He emphasises that their wines reflect three stories:
the season, the farm, and the style; each of which underline Johansen's commitment to showcasing the distinct
terroir of Tumbarumba.
Tom will guide us through a tasting of a selection of Johansen's wines , linking the terroir to the aroma and flavour profile of each style and vintage, providing us with an understanding of the journey of the grape from the vine to the glass.
