Join us for this hands-on workshop, where qualified horticulturist and landscaper Annette Burmeister will explain the how, why, what, and when of soil and water management for fruit trees.
Topics covered in the workshop will include:
Understanding your soil types and limitations
Improving soil structure and water holding capacity
Watering your trees efficiently and effectively
Tree Time – Why is my fruit tree dying?
Seed viability of heirloom seeds compared to hybrid seeds
Composing and mulching your fruit trees.
This event will be held outside, so please remember to bring the following:
A drink bottle & hat.
Wear weather-appropriate clothing and enclosed shoes
Presenter's Profile - Annette Burmeister
Annette is a qualified horticulturist and landscape designer who has served as a Horticulture Coordinator and Lecturer at both Charles Darwin University and TAFE SA. During her time at Charles Darwin University, she wrote and implemented Australia's first nationally accredited course in Therapeutic Horticulture. Annette operates her own consultancy practice, specialising in horticulture, therapeutic horticulture, and landscape design throughout South Australia.
