Description
Fire. Food. Music. Three things that have brought people together for generations come together under the Tucson sky for FUEGO y RITMO, a new Tucson Jazz Festival experience celebrating the flavors, rhythms and cultures of Tucson through food, fire and jazz.
At the center of the evening is fire. Chefs Travis Peters and Devon Sanner of S + P Creative will cook over live, open flame, with carne asada prepared over the fire pit at the heart of a menu inspired by Tucson, the Sonoran Desert and the creative possibilities of live-fire cooking. Rather than a traditional dinner, FUEGO y RITMO invites guests to experience the sights, aromas and energy of the cooking itself as part of the evening.
And while the fire is burning, the music will be moving. Hiram Perez's Latin Quintet brings the rhythms of Tucson's Latin jazz and salsa scene, while New Orleans' New Breed Brass Band brings the second-line spirit, funk and unmistakable energy of the Crescent City. These aren't simply two bands sharing an evening. They're two musical cultures in conversation.
Come hungry. Follow the rhythm. Gather around the fire.
