Full Moon Commune - February
Event description
The Cycles of the Moon create a natural calendar for our inner flow and the Full Moon is a time of heightened energies and powers that bring us to the cutting edge of the issue. The other times of new, waxing and waning quarters are also a deep flow that underlies life, so being in observance of this flow helps us find a natural balance.
During our Full moon Ceremonies we will continue into the Winter months and continue in the study of the power of ceremony and sacred space invoked collectively. I hope you can join us. If weather is wet, we can still meet indoors, in the Zen Zone.
Weather permitting we will gather at the fire circle, behind the lodge. If not we will still gather indoors. Bring drums, poetry, readings, songs...
Wear layers, bring flashlight and snacks to share.
Let's begin to co-create these ceremonies around the sun/moon axis themes. Come prepared to share something from your wisdom and experience about the dance between poles of the current axis. In January it is the Aquarian/Leo Axis. Here is a great discription from astroroom.com on the dynamics of this polarity. How is this showing up in your life...
The Leo-Aquarius axis resembles Aries-Libra in that it concerns the Ego and the relation of the self to other people, but is more intricate. Leo is about establishing a core self and finding creative self-expression, while Aquarius is about the submergence of the mind or the individual into a group or an idea while retaining a unique perspective. Leo seeks complete self-integrity with the ideals of nobility and pride, while Aquarius decentralizes and broadens consciousness in order to understand and observe different viewpoints and behaviour. Both can be of stubborn and dogmatic mentality. While Leo wants to interact with and permeate the given social order, Aquarius can be unconventional and eccentric, refusing to accept limitation from the establishment. Leo is warm and exuberant while Aquarius may be cold and disinterested. General themes are individual versus collective, autocracy versus democracy, creativity and imagination versus truth and observation, limelight versus backstage, egoism versus altruism, spontaneity versus reflection.
These circles are based on a foundation that was created by the original women's circle meetings at Earthwalk Ways back in the early 90's. We would have a theme and then different people were inspired to bring something, a meditation or invocation, or just a personal sharing around that theme. The sharing circle would always go so beautifully deep and spontaneously out of the box. It was a true modern day ceremony. I know there is another generation of women and men who are ready to discover this beautiful way of coming together in these times.
Hope you can make it.
