Description

Benefolk Funder Learning Circle

Capacity and Capability Building

Thursday 26 November 2026 | Online | Free

The Benefolk Funder Learning Circle brings philanthropic funders and impact investors together to share practical insights, learn from experience and shape better approaches to capacity and capability building, helping strengthen the organisations behind the impact.

Benefolk has worked with more than 10 philanthropic foundations on capacity and capability building, exploring how funders can help the organisations they support become stronger, more effective and better equipped for the future. Through this work, we're learning what helps, testing new approaches and working alongside funders to strengthen the organisations behind the impact.

The inaugural Benefolk Funder Learning Circle will be an opportunity to connect with peers, share what's working (and what's not) and help shape the conversations and priorities for our 2027 program.

What we'll explore

This first session is about bringing the right people together and understanding what matters most to them.

Together, we'll:

  • Meet other funders and impact investors interested in capacity and capability building.

  • Share experiences, current approaches and the challenges we're navigating.

  • Discuss what we're learning about strengthening organisational capability and resilience.

  • Identify the issues and opportunities we want to explore together in 2027.

  • Help shape the future direction and priorities of the Funder Learning Circle.

Looking ahead to 2027

This inaugural session will help shape the Benefolk Funder Learning Circle's 2027 program, launching in February. The program will create ongoing opportunities for funders to learn from one another, explore shared challenges, exchange practical approaches and hear from Australian and international guest speakers.

By bringing funders together, we hope to contribute to better practice in capacity and capability building and, ultimately, stronger organisations across the purpose sector.

FUNDER INTELLIGENCE TOOLS
If you haven't yet seen it, we're hosting a webinar on 12 November 2026 to showcase our capability diagnostic tools and how they are being used in philanthropy. Read more / register here.
